Collection: The Orange Circle

The Orange Plaza has been the heart of the city since 1880, though almost everyone just calls it the Circle, for the traffic circle that wraps around it. The town started as Richland in 1871 and was renamed Orange by the winner of a poker game between its founders, Alfred Chapman and Andrew Glassell. Old Towne Orange, the historic district surrounding the Plaza, is the largest National Historic District in California, nearly 1,400 vintage buildings within a single square mile. Larissa has painted this corner of Orange County again and again, live, on location, cafe by cafe and storefront by storefront. These are those paintings.
